Fox's much loved, hard-going trail focussed fork has seen a refresh for 2022 with a host of design details that you may recognize from the 36 and 38. That's not all either, the Float X and DHX have also received a lick of new from the brand. Read on for all of the details.

Starting off with the 34, the most notable changes the fork has seen come in the form of lower leg bypass channels and a redesigned lower leg arch.

The former helps achieve full travel by increasing the air volume within the lower legs, reducing the amount of unintended pressure ramping as the fork moves through its travel, the brand says.

These new channels also encourage the circulation of oil towards the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends.

Then the new lower leg arch offers more clearance between itself and the ever chunkier head tubes that we’re finding on modern bikes. Fox says that this design has been achieved using the absolute minimal amount of material to keep the fork as light as it can be.

That’s not all of the newness the fork has been graced with, we’re just getting started. The fork’s Float EVOL air spring now gets an enlarged air spring with the aim of assisting with mid-stroke support. The Step Cast version of the 34 also comes with the option to tune the negative air spring with a volume spacer.

Then Fox’s benchmark damper, the GRIP2 gets the brand’s Variable Valve Control tech, which allows for external fine-tuning of suspension performance.

Fox says that GRIP2 achieves what usually requires a full disassembly and reassembly of the fork with a simple twist of a knob.

The new 2022 Fox 34 is available in Factory, Performance Elite and Performance models with travel options for 120mm to 140mm, 44mm, and 51mm offsets and 15x110 or 15x110 Kabolt axles.

It’s also available with FIT4, GRIP2, and GRIP dampers but it’s only built for 29” wheels.

If you’re looking to save weight, there’s the Fox 32 SC, featuring that very recognizable step in the chassis. That one gets that tuneable negative air spring, 100mm to 120mm travel options, and most of the goodness you’ll get on the regular 34. However, it’s only available in Factory and Performance builds, and with FIT4, or GRIP dampers.

The Fox 34 is set to weigh in at 1,800g, while the Step Cast model saves 304g.

Moving towards the rear, Fox has also graced the Float X and DHX with an update.

The Float X gets an all-new chassis and damper, a high-flow main piston, numbered dials, an MCU bottom out bumper, and an independent firm mode circuit. Volume spacers also come with smaller increments for even finer tuning and the reservoir lengths are optimized as per the shock size.

That’s not all, the air valve has moved to allow for improved frame fitment and shock pump access, and Fox says that it’s a quieter working unit.

The coil, DHX also gets a lot of the tech you’ll find on the Float X, including numbered dials, and independent firm mode circuit but it gets a single rebound adjuster with a variety of access modes, including tool-free, 3mm Allen, or 2mm Allen.

The new Fox 34 starts off at £830 and goes up to £1,200 for the top-of-the-range Step Cast model. Then the Float X starts at £570 and the DHX starts at £630.
