Press release from the issuing company

Viking Industrial has launched a new tape application service. The leading UK tapes, adhesives and sealants distribution specialist has successfully adapted its in-house stable of Enimac adhesive tape application machines to provide an additional bolt-on facility. The first contract to add double-sided tape to 21,000 flat pack cardboard boxes for a West Midlands-based print and packaging group on behalf of a multinational retail sector customer has been successfully completed. In addition, Viking has undertaken a further contract to apply an anti-slip tape to one side of a Correx surface, with a double-sided tape to the reverse, which is being used by another client for protecting stairs in new builds in the construction sector. Early interest is said to be encouraging, according to Viking’s Technical Manager Craig Smith, who explained: “The tape application service is quick, accurate and extremely cost-effective. We have the ability to apply up to 1,000 pieces per hour and have identified significant potential to roll out the service to other customers across the UK printing, sign and contract packaging sectors.” Meanwhile, Viking continues to market potential sales of state-of-the-art Enimac machines across a multi-application end-user market after sealing a UK-wide distribution partnership with the Italian-based manufacturer late last year. An in-house demonstration suite of the Enimac range remains in operation at Viking’s headquarters in Keighley, West Yorkshire, with full details of both the machines and product ranges posted at www.vikingtapes.co.uk.  Established in 1969 and run by two generations of the Bennett family, Viking maintains its Preferred Distributor status partnership with global technology giant 3M and remains its N°1 online partner in the UK.
